I was going to buy a HDTV for my room so I could have my 360 in HD, but I then found out you can put them on projectors. I was wondering how good it would look at 55" with a contrast ratio of 500:1 compered to a 32" HDTV with 1000:1 contrast ratio. :)

I bought the Samsung HD DVD player but it has audio only in HDMI. My Receiver only has audio in analog. Is there a way to use a HDMI cord that perhaps has an analog end to it? Or do I need to buy one of those expensive converters?

I am trying to buy a new home theatre and I keep seeing the speaker frequency responses and don't know what that means...for the one I am looking at it says the frequency;
Satellite: 145Hz~20KHz
Subwoofer: 35Hz~140KHz
Main Set: 20Hz~20KHz
I just wanted to know if this was good and if so why or why not?

I'm going to be mounting my new plasma HDTV on the wall and would like to find a good, multi-connector wall plate that I can put on either end of the wall for connecting the components to the TV. Ideally the wall plate(s) would have 2 HDMI jacks, an S-video jack, component video jacks, left/right audio jacks, an ethernet jack, and a cable jack.

Has anybody found such wall plates, or what would you recommend instead for connecting the various cables through the wall?

Thanks!

Hi. My husband has a Panasonic dvd home theatre system SA-HT730... 5 disc changer, and i lost the remote and I cannot find it anywhere and hes upset. (which i do not blame him) Does anyone know where i could find just the remote for this? I dont want him to go out and buy a whole new system now. And we already tried universal remotes, they dont work unless you buy like the $300-$400 ones. Thanks so much.

The specs for Panasonic plasma TVs say that the Audio In from a PC is via "M3 jack". I can't find anywhere what that is.

I have 2 spkrs up front, and want to put the 2nd pair behind where we sit, the width is evenly spaced. The sitting area for us is right in the middle distance from front to back speakers. Should the "back" ones be @ earshot level while sitting, or should they be above the heads. Just curious....thanx audiophiles!!!

Are they phasing out video tapes. I was having a hard time finding 3 of my favorite movies on video: Ocean's Twelve, Batman Begins, and Chronicles of Narnia. And these are popular movies - what's up with that?

I have an Onkyo reciever which appears to be working with the exception that it produces no sound to the speakers. It was working fine, then the sound just stopped. It powers on and otherwise appears normal.

We recently bought a DVD-HD Recorder but it's not compatible with the older 5.1 surround sound system that we have. The new recorder uses the single cable optical sound standard whereas the 5.1 system uses the coaxial standard with a lead for each channel.

The manual for the DVD-Recorder says that you can get a converter but I haven't had any luck finding one.

Does anyone know where I can get one?

My mum taped Silent Witness for me last week on her VCR at home, but recorded on Long Play. I didn't know until I tried to watch it earlier and just got the blue background picture. Now my VCR wont play anything, even my own tapes which I recorded on Short Play. The picture is lined and blurry and what I can make out is not matched up to the sound. Anyone know what I can do to fix this problem? Are my tape heads needing re-aligned or something? Up until then there's been no problem with playback whatsoever. It's a decent Panasonic VCR with video plus etc.
