ur tv is too old. u need to replace it with a newer 1. you cannot use "progressive scan" with the tv u have. progressive scan requires a hd tv. also ur tv is MONO not STEREO, hence the 1-white audio input. the dvd player will hook up, but it will not be "progressive scan", or even in stereo.

Yellow cable is standard video, the cable will cost like $3 at best buy. Red and white are audio left and audio right. If your TV has a lone white output, it's a mono and you won't get stereo sound. Most DVD playerts have stereo output.

Just plug in a cable between the video
on the TV to the video connection on
the DVD player. Any cable with RCA
connectors will work, although a dedi-
cated video cable will have more shield-
ing from outside interferences. Get one
with gold plated RCA connectors for best
performance results.

I would get and plug a pair of audio cables
to the receiver or preamplifier and if you
want to use the TV's speakers, you can
connect a cable (right or left) from the
receiver to the TV -and voila!

It should have a red input on your tv too. You will need the correct lead, walmart or best buy will have it reasonably cheap.
