Standard DVD players have a tiny amount of RAM/cache inside, but it is used for playback and system functions, nothing more. You can get DVD Recorders that have built-in hard drives that will act as a DVR/PVR if that is what you are trying to accomplish. You can also build your own DVR/PVR from a PC using specialized version of Linux such as MythTV

depends, but they are called DVD recorder, it also play DVD disc as well.

DVD recorder have hard disc inside, where you can stored some TV programs or video, then it get transfer into DVD disc.

Normally the hard drive is about 80 gigs in size.
