i am buying a new camcorder and i think i have found what i am looking for but there are some things that i don't have a full grasp of.

like what is "MB" i know it means mege bites and it has somthing to do with how long of a video you can record but that is about all

so how long of a video can you shoot with 32 MB?
is that good?
how many MB do most low-cost camcorders have?

and does any one know the resolution of a "Digital Blue Tony Hawk Helmet Camera" and if it worht what you pay for?

I need a new camcorder but I am not sure about the Hard Drive based ones. So far they get the lowest reviews for quality of video regardless of name brand. I'm not looking to enter the Film Industry, just to capture family moments.

It's either this or one of the Mini DVD ones. Please help with your Input.

Hi dear “PVREDITOR”
lets me ask my question about comparing of sony DCR-HC96 and sony DCR-DVD805 Exactly.
I want to have high quality video archive on DVD and maybe edit them in the future.
In camcorderinfo site( www.camcorderinfo.com ),I saw that each camcorder was tested by a software according to ISO 12233 and according this test a certain score was given to it.
for example :
__________DCR-HC96__ DCR-DVD805
Video resolution:-----17.7__14.2
Still resolution:--------10.5__7.7
Video performance:--7.85__7.2
still performance:------7.0 __ ?

There for I conclude that video quality and still quality is higher in HC96.
Is it true that video quality and still quality is higher in HC96 ?
If it is true, which of these below videos has better quality ?
1)when I record video by HC96 then transfer my video from mini DV HC96 to my pc via I-link cable and change it to mpeg2 on a DVD disk.
2)When I record video or still pic by a DVD 805 in mpeg2 format.
Thank you

What would be a good video camera to make movies like the ones on youtube? Not like extremely high quality, but not bad quality. I want it to between 100 and 200 dollars, but I can probably get a good deal on ebay. What I need to know is what is a good easy camera to use?

I am looking to buy (or have someone buy for my birthday...) a camcorder. I would LOVE a hard drive one, but they are too expensive, so I am looking for a MiniDV. I need one that I can use to take clips with and make videos on the computer. I want good quality, but it doesn't have to be anything spectacular, since I don't have a DVD burner anyways.

What are some decent specs that I should look for, and do you have a specific one that you would suggest?
