It all depends on what is important to you. Panasonic is by far the better camcorder if you are looking for picture quality because is uses 3 ccd recorders, but the extra quality means you sacrifice in other areas. Sony is the best if you want low light sensitivity. If you take a lot of indoor shots you may be willing to give up a little quality to get the brightness in your shots. Sony is tops for easy controls with their touch screen controls, but their warranty does not cover the screen if you have problems, and if the screen goes their manual controls are not great. It is a trade off, I purchased the Sony, have had it for several months and very pleased with it.

Any camcorder is easy just point and shoot in auto mode it just gets confusing when you want a certain setting and thats with every camcorder.
