I call a cell phone number that I know for certain is turned off. Most of the time it goes straight to voicemail, but occasionally it will ring 4 times before going to voicemail. Does anyone know how this can happen. Is it a problem with the phone or just something with the cell system in general?

I know the Onkyo has the HQV, while the Denon 3808 doesn't, but I've heard nothing but bad things about the Onkyos, and heard nothing but good things about the Denon... I don't know who to listen to, and I'm looking to upgrade.. So what do I do? Which is the superior A/V Receiver?

Whenever I watch a DVD, gradients appears as bands of color instead of beeing smooth, giving the images a 'blocky' feel. This is especially apparent during night scenes where black zones are very pixellated. Normal TV programs don't have this problem.
I'm not familiar with all that technology: I see that my DVD player and TV have all sorts of input and output jacks.. Currently, I use a cable with yellow plugs to link DVD and TV. My TV is a conventional CRT Toshiba model 20AF41C. My DVD player is a Panasonic DVD-F87.
Any hints on how I could improve this? Thanks!

I've been faithfully putting my DV video on DVD's, but I've already had a couple of DVD's go bad just sitting on the shelf. Therefore, I want a hard disk based format. Now that I have an HDV camera, DVD just doesn't provide the quality I want either (I use Mac's iMovie/iDVD). I have experimented with the Apple TV format which is supposed to be a HD format and the results are good, but I want to stay with open, future-proof formats that preserve as much quality as possible while having a reasonable disk space footprint.

I have a Canon A620 and the card is a Panosonic SD 512 mb. Someone accidentally pressed the "format card" option in the menu of the camera, and I lost very important images. Please give me the best option to retrieve these lost images. Much appreciated.

You know, the little plastic clippy button; you press it down, so you can insert the speaker wire? I have two of them that are broken, so my center channel and my subwoofer (the two most important ones!) keep dropping out because of the loose connection. Is there a way to replace or fix those little plastic tabs?

I have a FugiLabs black MP4 (and 3) player with the memory capacity of 2G. It looks much like an ipod nano. However, I can't find a shuffe setting anywhere, so I must listen to my music alphabetically and must listen to all of the songs by the same artist all in a row.

My TV has picture options to convert it to 16:9 but when I do it, it will blow the pixels up- making it look like an ordinary digital channel. So my question is, is the 4:3 aspect ratio on HD channels by design to compress the pixels more or do I have to manually adjust to fit the screen?

I have a 30 inch, 1080i widescreen HDTV (it's 16:9 by default) and the ordinary digital channels fit the screen.
