can i return a broken ipod to the place it was purchased at for a new one?

if the screen on my ipod is broken.... cam i return it to the place it was purchased at if i have the resite and the bax it came in? if not pleese let me know what i can do to repair it.... get a new one for less than the real price or anything i can do to fix it at home? it is an ink blob on my screen

If its broken because you broke it, then there's nothing you can do.
If its broken because you just got a crappy one and it broke on its own even though you took good care of it, you may be able to return it to where you bought it if you bought it just recently. Otherwise you could send it to the customer service department of the place that made it, and depending on why its broke, they will fix it for free or charge you for fixing it.

If it was not broken when you purchased it, and subsequently became broke because of miss use or dropping it or something then no you cannot return it and get a new one. If an ink blob then it sounds like it did not come that way from the factory, try cleaning it, a dab of WD40 on a rag and scrub carefully
