My husband played Guitar Hero just one time a few weeks ago, and has talked about it ever since. I want to get it for him for Christmas, but he doesn't remember if he played 1 or 2, and I do want it to be a bit of a surprise.

So for you gaming folks, which version do you think is better?

All that I read about plasma tv says that "If you leave a static image for too long it will burn into the display" Fine. I get that. But How long is too long? ALL places that I read failed to explain.
i know there are hundreds of variables on this one. But there has to be a way to come close to say if you PAUSE your DVR for "X" minutes, it will mess your Plasma TV.....

I made the mistake of thinking I could replace the LCD screen myself because of a few tutorials online (and the idea that I would save money over trying to get it repaired/replaced). After replacing the screen and turning it on I got a white screen (indicating a cable was loose). After fooling around trying to get the cables in better I tried turning it on and now I have no power at all. I've taken it apart and put it together 2 times with no luck. I know the battery is good. There's no ac adapter to test with. Have I fried something somehow, shorted a circuit, or is there something I'm missing? More importantly, what are my options? Is it better to just buy a new one (~$300) or see if a camera repair shop can fix it (I live about an hour away from a larger city that might be able to do something so it's out of the way but I'm willing if it will help)?

My boyfriend are in a geeked-out argument over my buying a flat screen. He feels that it is very important for me to get the 1080p, but from my point of view the only thing I'm going to do with the set is watch broadcast television and dvd's. I'm not a gamer.

So I leave it up to you, how important is it to get a true HD set at 1080p, if I'm not going to be using it for more than just a tv.

Thanks!!
