I made the mistake of thinking I could replace the LCD screen myself because of a few tutorials online (and the idea that I would save money over trying to get it repaired/replaced). After replacing the screen and turning it on I got a white screen (indicating a cable was loose). After fooling around trying to get the cables in better I tried turning it on and now I have no power at all. I've taken it apart and put it together 2 times with no luck. I know the battery is good. There's no ac adapter to test with. Have I fried something somehow, shorted a circuit, or is there something I'm missing? More importantly, what are my options? Is it better to just buy a new one (~$300) or see if a camera repair shop can fix it (I live about an hour away from a larger city that might be able to do something so it's out of the way but I'm willing if it will help)?

I hope u pulled out the battery when u did this swap. Analyse the situation carefully. Have patience. Look out if you didnt reconnect some connections. When in doubt, play it safe. Swiitch off power. Observe, analyse and act. You can do it. Look up the manufactureres website. It is worth spending time.

I suppose that you soldered in a good way the LCD (you did 3 times or so), so probably you shorted a circuit.

It's probably better if you bring the camera to the repair shop and let them see it, but be ready to pay a lot of money (probably the same as a new camera), because your warranty is gone of course.
