It's Tivo and is essentially a hard drive that replaces a VCR. It is also a subscription service so you're going to have to pay a lot more for it than the price of the unit itself.

Do yourself a favor and buy a DVR that has a hard drive. You can record what you like and burn it to a disc. You can also edit out the commercials. Mine is made by Philips and works great.

tivo is a service offered by your cable company where you can set it up to record different shows at different times for an entire season if you want. you can also upgrade the computer chip so that you have more recording hours, the basic is about 32 hrs of recording time. the computer will save something for 3 days but you have the option to save it indefinitely. i travel alot so i can set up a season pass on my favorite show (24) and when i get back i can watch several at one time.

TVO stands for Tractor Vapourising Oil. a fuel that was used in farm tractors that were eqipped with two fuel tanks. One for petrol and the other for TVO. The tractor would be started started using petrol then; after the engine was warmed up, it could be switched to TVO. These other answers are absolutely ridiculous.
