I live in NJ. I am looking for a cheap cell phone plan. The cell phone will be used for urgent needs only, while driving. So I don't need a lot of minutes. And I don't necessarily need free weekend calling (since I have that with my work cell phone).

I heard about prepaid cell phones, that don't require a contract. That would be prefect, but is there a catch here?

Any advice will by highly appreciated, Thanks?

I want an iPod, and I'm looking at the iPod shuffle. One of my friends said it was crappy because you couldn't make a playlist, but you can hit the "Next" button, right? I don't need a play list or a screen. With the iPod shuffle, I can just put the songs on it that I want, right? Is an iPod the best, or should I go generic?

Are all AC adapters for laptops the same? Or can they be of different sizes.

This guy offered me an older laptop. He's selling the laptop for $20, but says I can have a brand new AC adapter for it for $50 if I want!

Are adapters really that expensive? Are they all the same? should i just take the laptop and buy a cheaper adapter elsewere?

As a result of reading many on-line posts, I enabled MP3's on the phone, I formatted the card, and I put music onto the card, using the card reader on my computer and windows media player (I do not have itunes). However, when I put the card in the phone, I get the following message: "NO SONGS FOUND IN MEMORY." I would really appreciate help, as I've been working on this all weekend, and my frustration level is escalating! Thank you

I am working on the specifications for a home theatre setup. The couch is currently 14 feet away from the wall where I will mount the screen. I'm trying to figure out how big the screen should be. I want to know if there is a rule-of-thumb ratio between screen diagonal, screen width or screen heigth. I can move the couch, and adjust other things, including opting for a smaller screen. I am positively going to purchase a front projector, most likely based on DLP technology. Also, I am going to purchase a professional screen (to receive the image from the projector). Finally, the room lighting can be near pitch black, BUT it is likely that there will be ambient light, since we will be building a bar at the back of the room as well.
