I want an iPod, and I'm looking at the iPod shuffle. One of my friends said it was crappy because you couldn't make a playlist, but you can hit the "Next" button, right? I don't need a play list or a screen. With the iPod shuffle, I can just put the songs on it that I want, right? Is an iPod the best, or should I go generic?

well if your goinf justfor music i suggest going with creative as they have better sound quality than ipods. the zen v is perfect as it comes in 1 gig and a couple colors a a small little screen here pleas elisten to me the ipods are just for looks the zens have looks but not as sleek as th eipod so yah, http://us.creative.com/products/products.asp?category=213&subcategory=&product=15283
whast cool about it is its not tall like the nanao with a small screen but rather short with a really nice screen, also it support inline recording and comeone creative is a sound tech company.... menaing they have awwesome reliablity. i jave the zen vision m myself. but thats 300$ please just look carefuly.

I'd go with the video version. It's so cool it has pictures stopwatch and you can watch videos. Also you can download TV Shows off the iTunes and watch em whenever you want. I only have the iPod Video and wouldn't have it any other way. Don't go generic cuz with the generic brand you don't get iTunes which I have found out is awesome. If you're into podcasts iTunes is great. If you're not check em out in the iTunes. I recommend Yeast Radio it's hilarious. I don't like the Shuffle cuz it doesn't seem so great since you have to search around for your songs and that can get really annoying once you hit about 500 songs. I'd go with the iPod Video since it has everything you want from an MP3 player.

DO NOT GET AN IPOD SHUFFLE!! They are really crappy! I have an iPod nano and I love it! I want the Video iPod! Video iPod is probably the best one. But the iPod shuffle is the worst. Just to let you know! Hope I helped you! Good Luck!

go with a 1-gig nano. it's so worth it. it's only 50 bucks more than the one-gig shuffle, and despite your protests about not needing a screen, it's so helpful to have one. plus, the nano can store pictures, has a stopwatch, etc, etc.
and i'd definately go with iPod. they're popular for a reason. they're excellent quality, and so much fun.
