There are a number of product comparison websites that will allow you to compare models and prices from different stores on the internet.
If you're looking for deals on high-end speakers and electronics, it is a little harder, but it can be done. There are sites and merchants here as well.

Here's a link to a review of 4 different home theater speaker packages. Price ranges from $800 - $1600, which is pretty good for a 5.1 system. At least some of these packages can be bought online.
You may also want to check out Axiom Audio and SVS. They both make great speakers and sell their products online.
