I have many friends to chat with and do so often. At least when I can sign on and stay on line without getting dc'd every 5 minutes or so. I know it is not a specific problem with my system because my friends experience the same problem. I have tried re-installing messenger but that was no help. One thing I have found out that will cause you some real grief is to try the "repair" option in the control panel's "add & remove" section. I tried that once, had the "repair function" run? for a long time, +30 minutes and finally had to quit because it did not respond, "program not responding" After I stopped and rebooted I found that I had lost 32 GB of disk space, that's right GigaBytes. A little research showed that the repair function had created a temporary file that was using up the 32GB. Makes me wonder what would have happened if I had let the repait run longer. Perhaps this is all a result of Yahoo's putting Profits over Human Rights as they did by the "outing" of Chinese disidents

I tried it, but I haven't figured it out yet. A close friend who is a Computer Technician or Network Specialist gave me the Windows XP software installation disk, and it must work or he wouldn't have given it to me. I didn't ask him how to install it because I wanted to figure it out on my own. Any suggestions?

I love when people edit musics and turn them in chipmunk style. I would like to do that too so is there any program out there that would let me do that? btw chipmunk is when you hear a music at a rly high speed and with funny high pitched voices. thank you. :)

I need a different set of characters than Unicode, but even if I change it to Central European characters, when I update the page it switches back to Unicode. Can I set it somewhow to work properly? Yesterday i even got a violation report because I didn’t pay attention and instead of the quotation mark I submitted some weird characters...

My computer was fine till about a week back. I am running Windows XP SP2, Norton Anitvirus, am connected using 128 Kbps always on connection to internet. I also have azureus installed. My computer has 512 MB RAM and a 1 GB swap file. When I start my computer , after I log on, the disk activity goes on for a long time and then I get the low virtual memory message. This happens even in 'Safe mode'.
After this happens, I cant run any programs, and I cant even start task manager to see whats going on. I cant even shutdown, though I can see the desktop. Is it a virus/worm or is it a swap file problem. I dont understand why this should start happening one fine day. I am unable to change any settings , because this happens while the startup is happening. Please Help.
