Ok, so i just started my own little website... www.rybomedia.com...i know, it's not much but i've had school and haven't had a lot of time to work on it...my idea is to have people submit their artwork to the site to be displayed...if you click on the "Submit Art" link, you'll see that i already have the form set up...however, it uses the mailto feature, which i don't want, plus it won't mail files...i downloaded a PERL cgi script, but am confused about what to do next...ANY tips would be great...thanks...

I'm a programmer (Perl, some very basic Java) and have turned to writing a batch script for work.

What I want to do is ping a server and IF it's a success, GOTO line, if not GO TO line.

How do you check results in batch? Is there a way? Any sort of variables, regexes, etc?

Good day. I am looking for a way to do something like this. What I am looking to do is have the front page of a web site change based on the date. What it is is a web site for a local theater that I am helping with and I want to have a table in a database (probably in access unless you can provide another alternative) with dates of the show and then with the run is currently running then the website would be updated with "Now Showing XXX" and if it is between shows have it say "Coming Soon YYY". Can anyone help me get this started, maybe thrown me a website or two that I can look at for some tutorial? Thank you.

Hai This is Narendra....
Now I am working on java and my objective is to configure and change the IP addresses of some systems in the network through java code.....

I am unable to telnet to other computer in the network with Runtime.exec() method in java.

How we can resolve this?
How can we telnet to other computer and type some commands like ls or vi and get the output of those commands in our system?
How can we pass some commands as input to that session programatically?

If any reference material is available, please let me know.

I am the proud owner of my own Web Site! It is a website where I am offering my services as an Independant Paralegal. I have six (6) years paid experience working in the legal field. Here's the problem; in the two (2) weeks that my web site has been up, I have received a total of ONLY TWO (2) Hits! and Only one (1) phone call from a potential Client who was asking how she should proceed in her case! RIDDLE ME THIS; WHAT can I do with my Web Site or To my Web site, So I can get 100's and 1,000's of hits? How can I expand my business and get clients to call me, E-mail me, or wrtie me? This is a refined version of a question I asked yesterday.

The database in question is for a movie theatre's web site. The company has multiple locations.

Movies table lists all of the movies with relevant data like cast, rating, run time, etc. Each location can play each movie.

Theatre table lists each movie theatre with info like address and phone number

Dates table lists the opening and ending date for each movie at each theatre. The dates are not necessarily the same for each theatre.

Times table lists movie id, theatre id, time start date, time end date, time, auditorium number. Each individual time is a single record, for example:
theatre 1, movie 1, friday, sunday, 1:00, aud 1
theatre 1, movie 1, friday, sunday, 3:00, aud 1
theatre 2, movie 2, friday, sunday, 1:00, aud 3

When dealing with multiple prints (copies) of a movie at the same theatre I just add additional records to the show times table with a different auditorium number. More in the added detail.

I'm making a website for users where they can customize logos, business cards , etc. For this I need a facility to add dynamic text from text boxes which the user will fill in and the text should then appear on the the selected image. I have the following code that sorts a table by 9 columns but when i run it in Excel 2007 the data is not sorted (works fine in excel 2003)

I basically need to know information on what ISP's use and what they have set up? ie. mail server, file server etc. I have been assigned a project, i work for an anti-virus company and they want to offer an ISP one of our packages for there mail server. They are using linux. I just want to know the structure most ISP's use, equipment and software. Would be great if people could direct to maybe some web sites or give me some information.

The salesperson would be responsible for going around town visiting with clients and trying to sell them a website made exclusively for them. The salesperson would also be responsible for keeping the client informed about the progress of his project as well as receiving instructions for possible modifications to design.

Has anybody used a salesperson for a web design business?
Should I use one?? Any cons??
