I'm making a website for users where they can customize logos, business cards , etc. For this I need a facility to add dynamic text from text boxes which the user will fill in and the text should then appear on the the selected image. I'm using ruby on rails by the way. Would appreciate any suggestions of how i could do this.

Cheers

Thanks mate. ImageMagick seems to be compatible with ruby on rails (RMagick). I will look into this. As long as it allows me to customize images in real-time then that's fine. Any more points to add on ImageMagick?

Most of the fancy sites start out with ImageMagick and then when they get popular they get their own programmers.

ImageMagick can do just about anything, but the documentation sucks. You have to be a guru in graphics to understand half of it. Ive gotten it to do some simple things at the command line which I could script into CGI routines. But its frustrating for me to try anything too fancy
