Hello,

I have some software on my computer to boost the speed of my internet. When I get ready to activate it, it asks me what type of connection I have (dial-up, cable, satellite, etc.) and there is an adjustable meter to set the pings. I can set it low, nuetral or high. It says on the lower ping setting that I get a quicker response and on the higher pings that the downloading is quicker. I just want something that will allow me to pull up webpages quicker when I am web surfing. Do I go for the lower or the higher settings in order to do this.

Also, if I have a firewall set up, should I still use anti-virus software to protect my computer or will the firewall handle everything including viruses, worms, trojans, etc.

help!!! I don't know were to post the codes on myspace so they take effect! I've been told that you do it on the about me section of my profile but when I look for a layout code and paste it it doesn't seem to fit entirely and when I save it it doesn't take effect...HELP!!!!

I asked this question before and people mentioned throwing up a forum with an existing CMS package. I'm really looking for a format similar to Yahoo Answers with the ability to rate questions and answers, have different categories or tags, etc. I really think the Q&A model is a great way to to organize information and get people talking about items that are really worthy of discussion. I'd like to see an a plug in for an open-source CMS package like joomla (http://www.joomla.com) but I'm interested in commercial software as well. Thanks in advance for any ideas or suggestions.

I just want to get simple software to make good lucking website graphics like banners and buttons. I would hate to pay $150 bucks to get Photoshop just to do such a simple tasks. Anything cheaper? Or is there a good website that has free webgraphics with no strings attached?

I dont have the internet at my place and the file I copied wants to take me to the website. I wanted to try cut and paste. I was going to place the information I wanted into a new folder and then copy it to a floppy however when I click on EDIT the words cut and paste are inactive. Heres a little more information: I have already placed the website into the favorites. I know how to "select all" and then send it to a floppy. I am not completely computer illeterate but close enough that I cant figure this one out. I also know many of you out there no longer use floppy disks but I have a buttload of them. I just want to copy words-no pictures, nothing animated or anything like that.. This should be simple enough to figure out but alas! It is not for me. So, any geeks or computer nerds out there who might lend assistance. I say geeks and nerds with no sarcasm intended. I wish I was one myself but anyway I'm sure there is some one out there who can help . thanks to any and all.

I have MANY links on my site that you can click on that take you to other sites. I want a drop-down menu at the top of the page so that you can click on "Clothing & Accessories" (for example) and it will take you to that category on my page and not open another page.

Is there a way to make just SELECT tables transparent, or is it all or nothing? I'd like to make just the table that has my general info (name, profile pic, location, etc) but I'd like the other tables to be opaque. (as an alternative, is there a way to make it transparent/opaque by a percentage?)
