I asked this question before and people mentioned throwing up a forum with an existing CMS package. I'm really looking for a format similar to Yahoo Answers with the ability to rate questions and answers, have different categories or tags, etc. I really think the Q&A model is a great way to to organize information and get people talking about items that are really worthy of discussion. I'd like to see an a plug in for an open-source CMS package like joomla (http://www.joomla.com) but I'm interested in commercial software as well. Thanks in advance for any ideas or suggestions.

Q&A software is not popular enough yet for companies to jump on the package development bandwagon, like they have for, say, social networking sites. And to be honest, it probably won't get that popular, except for very specialized systems for certain commercial packages, like customer support or something.

A number of systems (like the Drupal mentioned) support some of the functionality you're talking about, like tags, but to get something to work like you are describing would likely require real development.

Very interesting that you ask this though... I am in the process of developing a publishing software platform that incorporates some of this functionality... if you are interested, we can discuss expanding the Q&A aspect of it like you describe. Shoot me an e-mail (through my profile page) and we can chat. It would definitely be beneficial to me to have another real-world business user helping define the needs, and you would get a package that exactly meets those needs.

(To establish some credibility, I've done projects for companies like BMW, Wachovia, Michelin, ESPN...)

rather typically viruses and malware must be prevented through purely: a) downloading and setting up updates as they modify into accessible, and b) no longer downloading and utilising random information from the internet. it type of feels to me that the project is mostly one of person lack of understanding, or maybe being too trusting. As with something in existence, warding off tragedy on line is an argument of straight forward experience. as an celebration, i myself were utilising homestead windows for over a decade, and that i have hardly ever had a difficulty with viruses or malware of any form. i do no longer use anti-virus utilities as i do no longer want them. If I had to wager, i'd say that really over 0.5 of the themes concerning viruses and malware stem from the common person's willingness to acquire and run classes willy-nilly. it is no longer that a device is inherently insecure; it is that each and each body the protection interior the international won't be able to take care of you in case you go away your the front door wide open.

I would also look into Drupal. I have recently found it useful. I used to roll my own sites. Now I am considering using Drupal as a framework for everything. It is highly configurable and comes preloaded with user authentication functions.

The list of sites using Drupal indicates its flexiblity.
