Website templates - help with HTML/CSS?

Question

Okay, so I am an experienced Adobe Photoshop user....On www.good-tutorials.com, they have plenty of tutorials on website templates. I can make very good looking website templates and whatnot, but the problem is that I don't know what to do with the template!

I guess I could make a different image for every page and use the

tags with CSS to put text over a background image, but they always come out differently in each browser.

I could also take apart each section of the template (links, logo, content boxes, etc.) and put them together on the website, but I think that would be too time-consuming and hard.

There must be an easier way to do this, right? I've been thinking about it forever but I have no idea.

All help would be extremely appreciated.

No, there is not an easier way to do this. Professionals (such as myself) don't have any magic tools to take a website from mock-up to HTML. Photoshop does support slicing, which will sometimes do what you want, but much of the time it will just end up creating a bunch of extra code pointlessly.

It may seem like "a lot of work" but once you do it a few times and get the hang of it, it really only takes about 10 minutes to do an even somewhat sophisticated design. The hardest part is figuring out the most efficient and elegant way to lay out your page code so you know where to make the slices on your image template. This comes easier with practice and time.

this actually can be done. not through photoshop though. use fireworks. its much better when it comes to web design. it will export everything for you including text, css, and html. no brainer

well after you make a layout, you need to upload it some where, i suggest photobucket.com once its uploaded then you need to know the div basics

once you make a layout, it will tell you how to get it on, how to make the divs, and it will tell you about the 2 different divs. it may seem a bit complex but youll get the hang of it. just try it
