I have been a hobby web designer for a great number of years, but I have only designed in html. I recently found some spare time in my retirement and desided to give css a try. All was going fine until I had the bright idea of placing a scrollbar on the center style sheet of 3. I have the left and right sheets acting as menu's and wanted the center sheet to stay one screen in lenght and to scroll if the text within the sheet was longer than the viewing area. I was trying to do this with the intentions or keeping the entire page visible at all times, and to eliminate the browser's scrollbar entirely.

I have seen this done, but have no idea how these people have done it. I have spent 2 days trying to research this topic without any solid frame of reference being found. I am hoping that somebody here may be able to shed a little light on this.

Thank you for your time

HELP

Hi and thanks in advance for any suggestions. I have done plenty of work with MP3 files before -the kind of link where you click, the whole file downloads and then it plays automatically (or you can save it to your computer). Basically, I have a library of audio files that I would like to put on my page with the option of streaming audio. I am hoping to get it so that right next to the title of each audio file in the library is a player so that the viewer can just press play and voila .... streaming audio. OH, and one more thing... is this possible to do without engaging and Active-X. I find it totally annoying. My friend has this on his website but he used some Yahoo! based web design program I think. Thank you.

How do I write an application that prompts the user to input a five digit number, and prints the digits separated from each other by three spaces each? (For example, the user enters "61345" and the program prints "6 1 3 4 5").

Here is the initial program skeleton to work from:

import java.util.Scanner;

public class SpaceNumber {
public static void main(String args[]) {

// get a number from user - store in variable called number
Scanner input = new Scanner(System.in);
System.out.print( "Enter a positive, 5-digit integer: " );
int number = input.nextInt();

// Notes: (1) above code assumes user actually enters an integer;
// (2) code below assumes the integer has 5 digits and is > 0.

//YOUR SOLUTION HERE

}
}

I'd really appreciate the help. I'm just starting java and the textbook doesn't clearly specify how to complete this problem.

I'm a professional Web Programmer who would like to know if there is a way to, on an IIS Windows 2000 server, make dynamic ASP pages, that typically use the .asp extension, appear to be processing from a .html extenstion (or an extension that is search engine friendly).

I read-up on this in the past and foolishly didn't save the resources to my favorites, but I read that if you modify the 404 error page, you can make dynamic ASP pages "seem" like they are using the .html extension, essentially making the webbots think dynamic pages are static in order to get them listed on search engines and improve website ranking. Are there programs available that can do this?

In addition, I will be replacing an entire html website with a dynamic portal site that uses ASP. What is the easiest way to redirect searches for pages that have already been listed on search engines? Meta refreash maybe?

Please help, this project is due Friday.

I've just had a website developed (in Linux). When I browse the site in Firefox it's ok, but when I browse using Internet Explorer 6.0, the title banner refreshes every time the cursor runs over it, which is very distracting. After I've spent a few minutes on the site, it settles down and stays fixed.
