Hmm...I don't know and I've been using Word for 20 years.
I would probably create a table and put your text into a very narrow column. That's one way to do it. Maybe someone else will have a better way.

One way to do it is to insert a table, 5 rows, 1 column. Format the table so that it is one character wide.

You could do it with a WordArt. Those have an option somewhere to change the direction like that.

Use WordArt as suggested. You can find it by toggling on the drawing toolbar from the views menu... under toolbars.

Use Word Art. You may have to add it, but you can do almost anything with this. It isn't something you have to pay extra for, it just may not be on the standard installation.
