Before you delete any processes, please look at this website http://www.windowsstartup.com/ as you don't want to stop important programs from start up.

NO! You could crash your computer if you just suddenly stopped all of your processes!
If you want to make your computer run faster you need to do one of two things or preferably both of them. One is to delete files you don't need any longer, or move the ones you do need but don't use often, clean up your Registry, the other is install more memory.
Now a great little program for cleaning up your hard drive and your Registry amoung other things is called CCleaner. It is a super program, takes up hardly any room on your hard drive and thousands of people use it and it is FREE!!
Go to: http://www.cnet.com/dowmloads
Once there, put ccleaner into the search box at the top right of the page and click Search. A page with a few entries will appear, scroll down the list until you find ccleaner and click on it. On the downloads page read user reviews and you will see how many people just love this program and you will see how high the reviews are. There are not any bad reviews for this program. Once you have assurred yourself it is a decent program to try download it to your desktop and then install it on your system. After you install it you will be given a link to go directly to the website of the fella who created this program and get the instructions for use. It is very easy to use and there are about seven short pages of instructions with screen shots.
This program has a Disk Cleanup tool, a Startup Manager, a Registry Cleaner, a Cookie Manager, and a Software Removal tool which works much better than the Add/Remove applet. I strongly reccomend getting this program and using it on a weekly basis.
I have been using this program for over a year and have not had a single problem with it, have not had to merge one single registry backup. Just make sure you do the backup of the registry when cleaning it, it is easy, very simply and will put the backup with the date and time into your My Documents. When you have a few of them create a folder for them and the program will back up to this folder after you open it the first time. Now remember, when cleaning the registry you will need to scan for issues a couple of times as it takes off only the lowest key in the registry. Once the last key is removed a next scan will locate the next lowest key, and so on. Very simple a child could do this.
Good luck and have a nice day!

I would not do that if I were you. Also if you hit CTRL ALT DELETE too many times it could even damage your computer more. The best things to do if your computer is acting up is to first run a virus scan. A number of things could be slowing your computer such as a worm, virus, adware or spyware. The best thing to do is try that first. Should your computer still be slow go to CONTROL PANEL then ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS and delete all programs you no longer use or need. If that does not work call a technician out. If it is a fairly new computer ( 1 year or less) it should still be under warranty. If its not you will have to pay for this service and if I were you get your warranty renewed. The technician will tell you whats wrong with your computer and be able to fix it. The reason I tell you to not disable all programs and then start them again is because that can cause your computer to freeze and then have major problems my friend Kaylee once tried that adn it crashed her hard drive. Now its totally up to you. But I would avoid that option. Hope my advice helps and your computer problems are soon over.

Ctrl-Alt-Del should not hurt as long as you don't kill a Windows service necessary for the proper functioning of your computer.
What I would do instead is the following:
1) Check for virus or spyware (try Yahoo! Toolbar with Anti-Spy).
2) Disable unnecessary programs and services from the start up.
3) Defragment the hard drive at boot time (try Diskeeper).
4) Install sufficient memory (in case you don't have enough).

Do not disable all these processes. Your pc needs them to run. First check how much free space is in your pc. Go to my computer and right click and choose properties. To have a fast running pc, you should have about 10 GB of free space. Check for unecesarily large files. If all else fails, try disk defragmentator in start - all programs - Accesories - System Tools. Maybe your pc is subject to bugs. In that case download free software such as Spybot - Search and Destroy. If all else fails. Upgrade your pc.

Go:
Start/Control Panel/Performance&Maintenance/Administrative Tools/
Double Click on services and observe all processes that are automatic. If unneeded change them to manual or even disable them if you do not need them.
Also for scans to look for adware, etc. use hijackthis, it is free at:

You could try. Another reason your computer might be slow is that you might have viruses, try running virus check. Lastly, go on start>controlpanel>add\remove programs and take out any useless junk. Hope this helps ^.^

either your computer is cursed...... or you have a virus. Also you could have a slow processor. I would suggest if the computer is worth a bit have a professional look at it or if it is awful just get a new one and donate it to people who don't have computers.
