changed the password one day when i was prompted....and now the administrator account has vanished.....need a cheap.....and EASY!! (lol) way to get it back....

I have a hp PC m1170n and it does turn on but the cooling fans are at full rpm. the hd is good and I also get no video. so Im thinking its the power supply. funny thing is is that even though it does turn on there is no light on the power switch is does have a light ist just not on and leds dont burn out in 2 years. the system specs are Pentium 4, 200 gig hd. 512 mgb of ram. its a media center hp the vid card is a ATI Radion x300 se which is a pci-e type card with 128 mgb of memory. So any ideas on why this might not be booting? Could it be the power supply?

I have installed into my computer the Sims2, Sims2 University, Sims2 Nightlife and Sims2 Open For Business. I went to the Sims2 website to download lots (houses), I can download the file but when I open it on my desktop, it says "This content requires expansion pack data that is not installed". How could it be? I have all of the expansion pack data needed to download the lot? Someone please help?

Ok...i have no experience buying computer...before I was thinking of buying a Dell XPS M1710 but then people were like Dell sucks and Macs are better, so I want to know if I can install Windows on it and use all the programs like Microsoft Office and everything else...also are the graphics good? I am trying to burn a cd for my sister in law, and when I went to rip it this message came up-
"Windows Media Player cannot rip tracks from the CD correctly because the CD drive settings in Device Manager do not match the CD drive settings in the Player."

The entire taskbar at the bottom of my screen is gone. I can use other bars like the Language bar, but the normal taskbar is gone. I don't download anything from the internet. My computer is only a week old. I'm sure it's my fault but its a pain in the neck having to always revert back to the task manager to see if I have any programs running. Any help would definately be appreciated.

Hi, I just opened Firefox on my PC, and when I opened it, I got a notification saying "firefox.exe-corrupt disk" and telling me to find my chkdsk utility in C drive. im not sure what to do with it, can anyone help me out?

Here is my dilema - I currently have 1gb (2x512mb sticks) of Kingston HyperX RAM, If I wanted to up that to 2gb, do I need to use the same type of ram, and can I just put 1 1gb stick in there and have 2x512 and 1x1gb sticks or will that not work?

I have a mobo that has 4 ram slots that can handle 4gb

Copy files from:

c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash


^^is what is says when it pops up when trying to install sp2 and i click retry and it just says the same thing how can i fix this

Sometimes when I "x" off the internet, a little thing pops up on my screen, and it has been happening more frequently. It doesn't seem to affect anything, I just click on OK and it goes away. It says this

"The instruction at "0x07dd454d" referenced memory at "0x07dd454d." The memory could not be "read." Click on OK to terminate the program."

That is what it says, word for word. If anyone can tell me what this means, I will be most grateful, as this is very baffling to me, and I will surely give the first to answer correctly 10 points!
