The entire taskbar at the bottom of my screen is gone. I can use other bars like the Language bar, but the normal taskbar is gone. I don't download anything from the internet. My computer is only a week old. I'm sure it's my fault but its a pain in the neck having to always revert back to the task manager to see if I have any programs running. Any help would definately be appreciated.

I tried the auto hide and the dragging. I made sure it is unlocked. It's like its not even there.

I've been having a somewhat similar problem. My anti-spy icon disappeared and I can't find it or the program, but I think the program is lurking somewhere on my hard drive. From what I've been able to determine, you can make things disappear and reappear by clicking on View at the top of the screen and then doing who knows what. I fiddled with it some and said tomorrow's another day.

Is it hidden, as in you hover near the bottom of the screen or is it pulled down?

If it's pulled down, put your mouse near the bottom of your screen until you see the double arrows. Then hold your button down and drag up, That should bring your task bar back into view. then right click and lock it so that won't happen again.

If it's hidden, as in it auto-hides when not active, right click the task bar when you see it, go to properties. then uncheck auto-hide.

Move your mouse to the bottom edge of the screen until you get the up-and-down-arrow cursor, then drag the taskbar up to be one line wide.

Have you tried moving your mouse pointer down to the bottom of the screen, right click and hold the button, then move the pointer upward to see if it is there? Or you could have moved it to either side or the top of the screen?
