I have recently purchased a belkin usb to serial port converter( the old 9 pin connector) so i can run some old periferals. I have selcted a comport which is showing as free on device manager wich was com 2. Even though there is no evidence of conflict, when ever i start to use an application to run a periferal, It may start to work and the signals are going through becasue the external device is responding, but nothing is uploading to the pc. Eventually the pc will come up with an error msg, saying is the device turned on, is there a conflict etc. i've atempting moving other items such as modems and so forth but still no success. Lastly the periferals need to be sitting on a com port between 1-4 as all the software i am using to run these devices only show 1-4.....thanx

I hadn't used it in like forever and now I dont know how to get it to work. I thought that as soon as I plugged it in to the USB port it would recognize it and it would work fine but that's not the case. I dont have the software it came with on my computer anymore. What can I do?

i am also planning on buying a Geforce 8800 gts video card with a Ultra / X3 / 1000-Watt / ATX / SATA-Ready / PCI-E Ready / Energy Efficient / Modular Power Supply and a Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 2.66GHz processor. is this a good gaming computer ? Pls help i really want to know if the memory is compatible with the motherboard. My dad will buy me these parts if i get first place in my class.

I need a cheap external dvd writer, i don't know where to buy it. I don't want to spend more than 50 in that. I'd like it to burn any kind of DVD except double layer, that's not necessary and light scribe isn't necessary either.

my motherboard is intel d101ggc, i can't find a bios update compatible with vista, because the Nvidia i have is 256 mb and showing 128 mb because of the bios version, i am using vista ... can u help me ?

I downloaded all of the soft ware,and plugged in the card to the mother board, but I'm afraid I didn't remove anything for fear of taking something important. The card I installed is Vision Tek X 1300. The guy said it was really good; all I know is the darned thing cost $128.00 and if I'm going to make an investment like that, I expect it to work. What have I done wrong?

getting a new crad but requirs a bigger power supply i have a 250watt new card needs a 450watt.im not sure if this power supply will fit in my computer becouse the power plug in is on the oposite side of the power supply and i could not find one that looked very close to the one i have in it now.

I have a custom built computer with a SiS-648 motherboard. I currently have 512MB of RAM by Bravo. What type and speed of RAM can my motherboard handle? Also, I found a great deal on Kingston DDR2 PC4200 Dual Memory. My motherboard would not be able to support that would it?

Help. My computer is awfully slow, and i was told that i need to add DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) ram to help speed it up. I recently bought this dvd drive but it won't write dvds. Under My Computer when I insert a DVD-R or DVD+R it marks it as a cd drive, But when there are no dvds in the drive it marks it as DVD-RW drive. Does this mean that I need to use a DVD-/+ RW disk? What confuse me is that I have this DVD+R disk that I have written a while ago and it reads it fine. I already updated the firmware and I went to each program under Nero and updated it as well. They were both working fine until I installed the video card. I double checked to make sure they were both connected properly. They are not even showing in the bios anymore. The only thing I can think of is that my power supply is only 500 watts and it says it requires 550 watts. Do you think this might be in issue. Thanks in advance.

I use VSO ConvertXtoDVD software, and I have a Sony DVD-RW AW-Q170A(master), and a NEC CD-RW NR-9300A(slave).
I bought 2 dvd burners in the past and I have not been able to burn a single video, and Im so frustrated. Can somebody give me some helpful tips on what to do.
