For starters, only certain models of the Celeron D chips have the 64-bit architecture. You can find out if yours is one of them here:

http://www.intel.com/products/processor/celeron_D/index.htm

According to the HP info sheet on the system, it has the Celeron D 352 chip, which is a 64-bit chip. What concerns me from looking at the base specs is that it only has 512MB of RAM, and up to 256MB of shared video RAM. From everything that I've been hearing & reading about Vista, you'd ideally want 1GB of RAM AND 256MB of video RAM for the 32-bit premium version! You can find the system requirement breakdown here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/editions/homepremium/default.mspx

Sorry to be a buzzkill, but it's better to wait a while & upgrade your hardware than to install this hog of an OS, and find out that you can't utilize it.

I'd prefeare win XP professional, just becauze of vista needs a lot of resourcess and it's as new and not have any SP yet.
wait untill they issue service packs and fix all the bugs.

Make life easier, stick to 32bit. More drivers are available. And a LOT LOT more and better drivers for Win XP (32bit).
