I downloaded all of the soft ware, and plugged in the card to the mother board, but I'm afraid I didn't remove anything for fear of taking something important. The card I installed is Vision Tek X 1300. The guy said it was really good; all I know is the darned thing cost $128.00 and if I'm going to make an investment like that, I expect it to work. What have I done wrong?
Thanks,

I didn't remove anything and I can't take the X1300 back. There was a great big paper in the bottom that said I ABSOLUTELY COULD NOT FOR ANY REASON return the card.

Need more info. Did you remove an old card? If so what card was it? Are you still getting Video to your monitor? Did you disable your onboard if you had that before?

The X1300 is not a really good card. Its more of mid to low end card. Although 128$ is a reasonable price. If you can I would take it back and invest a little more on a higher end card.

Good luck

I believe your Visiontek x1300 is a PCI card. Probably you still have your old PCI graphics card in there together w/ its driver. You need to uninstall the old graphics card together w/ its driver.

Or you have an integrated graphics there and after installing the X1300, your monitor cable is still plugged to the old vga port instead of on the x1300's port.

I can safely say its not worth that price. Take it back! For that price you can pick up a much better card online at http://www.newegg.com
