You can always get a portable accessory hard drive. It is inexpensive has a large capacity and just plug and play with usb port. I have seen 120g for about 75$..That is if you don't want to open your tower Etc..

You didn't say what kind of computer you have and that is important because some are easy and some require a lot of work. If it is a laptop, there is usually a panel on the bottom you remove to replace/upgrade memory. But you have to read the instruction book to find out what kind and how much memory it will support.

If you have a Dell desktop, it is not so easy because they tend to rivet the case onto the frame and (hopefully after the warranty expires) you have to drill the rivets out to get inside the case. after that it is a simple matter of doing what others have said above. Other desktops are easy to get into.

not to be a jerk, but to pekabo when people say memory it means ram more often than not. hard drives are usually referred to as storage (just so someone doesnt say it meaner to you in the future and call you immature stuff like noob etc as many flamers like to do online and irl)

___back to the question___
It is easy. You do need to make sure you have the right type of memory though, as there are different interfaces and different speeds

in pentium3 era motherboards youve got 2 basic speeds

PC100
PC133

these have 3 partitions in the connectors, make sure you match them up when inserting

also, in the later athlon xp, athlon 64, pentium 4, pentium d and SOME dual core athlon 64 era motherboards usually take ddr1 in the following speeds:

PC2100
PC2700
PC3200

These are 184 pin modules and have 2 partitions in the connectors. One side is larger than the other so make sure you match this up with the slot on the motherboard when inserting the memory

newer systems take ddr2 which are fairly similar to those of ddr1 but have more pins. these also vary in speed but essentially, the same applies for all ram just make sure the scheme of the partitions on the connector match up as I have seen tons of people bring their computers into the shop trying to force ram in the wrong way and sometimes even ruined the slots

dont force it. it will require some force to make the 2 white latches on the side of the ram close and hold it snug, but not extreme force

Memory is very easy in a desktop. I havent tried to do it in a laptop. Do some research to see what is the right kind for your pc. Call or email the manufacturer. Before you put it in touch your case to get rid of static electricity. Undo the (ram) clip on the motherboard-line it up-if your bought the right kind it will fit perfectly. Press it straight in firmly--it should go right in. When its all the way in press the clips shut. Youre finished! While you have the case open wipe clean your fans and blow the dust out of the case--you should do this about twice a year.

Yes. All you have to do is take off the side panel on your tower. Once you have done that, take the stick of memory that you want to add and place it in the slot next to the other memory in your system. Make sure not to touch the gold bottom on the stick. Make sure that the white clips on either side are down before installing and make sure the click on to the stick once ou push it in. Also make sure you have the right type for your system.
