Computers & Internet - 6 October 2006

It still plays the songs that were downloaded when it was set up on the first computer but since I've tried to set it up to the new computer I can't delete songs already on the ipod or get new songs. is there a clear easy way to do this? I'm not very good with things like this anyway. I even tried going through the help steps from apple help but I can't get it to work.

Has anyone experienced problems with running videos on media player - which may have been realted to viruses attacking dll files? If so, could you recommend a fix for this?

the search box how do you slate it away off of the search box area. everytime i go to another search the box it shows all the previous links i went to. i want to delete those.

every time i click on something i want to view i get redirected.. its driving me crazy n i just cant get rid of them.. cheeky ba****ds! one of them is 'search.net' who the hell do they think they are! same happens if i use google.. takes me to 'search.net! help please!!!! thank you!!!

I can download most attachments but cannot download .pdf files. I get an hourglass like the file is downloading but it never appears. When I search for the file, there are no results.

I have a Linksys WAG54G router which is supposed to run at 54mbps, only recently, it has been running as low as 2mbps, is there a reason for this?

I have had it about 18 months now and It does get quite warm, will this affect performance?

I need some help. I want to be able to read and write in Japanese on my computer. I have the US version of Win XP Pro. A couple of people I know have a program that allows them do it but like most things with computers the person who loaded it onto their computers cannot be contacted at the moment. I have, so I did a little experiment this week. I did nothing on this PC but visit Yahoo Answers. Every 2 days, I ran my Spyware Doctor software and up to 11 threats and infections were found. All of them appear to be hijacked web sites, web site corruption ware or embedded toolbars that can't be seen in your taskbar. This morning I actually got a message that my virtual memory was at a minimum and some programs may not work properly.
Has anyone else been experiencing a slower PC since visiting Yahoo Answers?
