yes, and i would suggest getting the Windows Live Media, it's the newest msn messenger out there, it works great and you can add your yahoo friends on there now too.

yes it is free, there has been rumors for years that msn was going to start charging for it but its merely a rumor that has been floating around for years.

yes, except there are bits you may have to pay for if you want them such as avitars and other unneeded stuff. the actual messenger itself though is free for use.
