Take them to a photo shop. They can transfer them for you. It should cost about $30.00 for about 2 hours worth of film.

I had my super 8 home movies transferred to Beta about 20 years ago, then transferred to VHS. And most recently onto DVD.

You may wish to consider adding a little accompanying music, as long as you are having it done.

You can go here. It's 4.99 UK for a 50 ft reel. It's the cheapest I have found. I have about 50 8mm reels that I want to transfer and every place I have found is about $20 a reel. I am going to try this for one reel and see how it comes out. Worth a try for the price.

Hunt through your yellow pages, or the equivalent where you live, there will be someone in there I'm sure who can do this for a fee. Getting a pro to do it will be best in the long run, ask for their rates to do all yoru films in one blast.

Do it yourself is possible but you'll either need to get the special digitizing equipment or you'll have to botch something together with a digital DVD camcorder pointing at the projection screen.

can that old porn really be worth saving

i don't think most places can handle 8mm but any LOCAL photo processing shop can ( LOCAL being the places with a lab - these days most just ship them elsewhere )
