i dont even understand your question. If you're asking if it adds on to your computer's RAM when you have it plugged in, then no.
A jump drive works like a tiny hard drive. you can save whatever you want onto it.
RAM is random access memory that you cannot save things to. Your computer uses it as temporary storage for files in use, loading programs, system tasks, etc.

Short answer. No not right at this moment. However when Windows Vista is supposed to come out the professional version of it you are supposed to be able to use memory from external devices as ram..... Also I just want to let you know that external devices used as ram the speeds are considered extreamly slow compared to actuall ram....

It is true that a jumpdrive is viewed as a hard drive on your computer. If you will study the concept of Virtual Memory as in Win XP, you will find the more drive space you have, the more virtual memory you have. To see how much Virtual memory you have, Click Start, Programs, Accessories, System tools, System Information.
I only have 512 Mb of physical memory, but with 380 Gb of drive space, I have 2 Gb of virtual memory.
