I surf the net, use outlook, explorer and a simple database. Should I get a widescreen LCD or a Square one?

Any brand recommendations? Tiger Direct has Hanns·G HW-192DPB 19-Inch Widescreen LCD for $199.00. Should I go 20.1?

I purchased the Brother 2040 B/W laser printer. I have some black and white photographs and wanted to print them out with the laser printer. However, I've heard that I can't use gloss paper because the heat will melt the coating and ruin the printer. Is there high quality photo paper for laser printers? Does it make a difference if the paper is for color laser printers as opposed to black and white? Factors such as weight, iso brightness, gloss, matte...it is all becoming very confusing with such a wide selection.

The photos are pretty sharp and I want to use the highest possible quality paper that is the safest to use on the laser printer. I would like to get the most professional looking results possible with a laser printer. However, finding that paper is proving rather daunting!

my moniter is about two feet from my tv and when i turn my tv on, the computer moniter starts to flicker. It is a verry fine flicker but it is noticible. is there any sort of component that will stop it. and no, i cant move the moniter any further from the tv because there is simply no other maner to organize my stuff.

I bought a mother-board ASUS P5-PE-VM, a CPU Celeron 2.66 (775) 331 ROI, together with DDR 256KM, HDD Samsung 40GB.

The computer works well but not stably. Its power source is sometimes suddenly cut off without any reason. Pls help. Thnks.

I have internet explorer. I hate msn search. Whenever I type in something to search on my address bar, it pulls up search results from msn. I want my searches to come up from yahoo withoput my having to type in my search to my yahoo toolbar. I have already tried getting rid of my address bar and just using the yahoo toolbar but the problem with that is that I can't just go to a website. It searches for the site and then I have to click it for it to go to the site. Please tell me how I can make my searches yahoo, while still searching form my address toolbar. Thanx

it'sloast it's CD Drive all of a sudden

it was connected to broadband internet a few months ago then all of a sudden it stopped loading CDs, the cd thing pops out and in but thats it

you go into my computer and the only thing there is Hard Drive and Floppy disk drives, no CD Drive.

I've tried a computer search

I've tried "Run" in the start menu

I've even tried control panel/add or remove programs/add through Cd or floppy but when I try and browse for the CD drive it's not there (again)

the hardrive in question is going into the internet within the next three days. is ther software I can downlaod FREE that will allow me to use the CD Drive?
or do you have any other bright ideas?

I don't want to have to take in to be repaired
the warantee is out and I'm broke

I have a pretty old version of Microsoft Word. I need to use Clipart for homework. On school computers, there are many many images for it. At home, I typed "swimming" and there were no results! I'm sure it would have worked if I used the school computer. Do I need to update my program?

i literally feel like a drug addict sometimes, only with the computer. i don't sleep very much at night b/c i'm on the computer till 1am. i procrastinate studying and doing my homework, and all in all the computer is basically getting in the way of me living life.

but i don't know how to stop b/c i'm in a dorm room - so i sleep, study, and relax all in the same room, plus i need the computer b/c they post homework assignments on the internet. it's just that when i get on the computer i literally can't get off. i tell myself i'll only spend 10 minutes on it, but then i look at the clock a little whille later and an hour has gone by! i can't help but check my email like 3 times a day, and it's like once i get on the internet i just can't get off!

i have other hobbies like playing music...but sometimes i ignore them so that i can get on the internet.

this computer is ruining my life!! how can i stop my internet addiction???

A tech looked at it...seems to be the power supply. I believe it is soldered to the motherboard- right? Any ideas how much it would be to fix it? I'm handy...can I do it myself? Pop out key borad, unscrew, pop it in and out??? Any other ideas on why it won't turn on...tried other power cable still nothing...and it should run on AC power even if the battery is dead.

This would be the 2nd computer in the house, would I just have a router or would they set up another cable modem for this computer? I see on this computer they have a phone line connecting it and a special cable line going to the modem. Would I have to buy a 56k modem too?

if you right click on my computer, then click properties, then click remote there is supposed to be one thing on there that says remote assistance, then underneath that there is supposed to be something that says remote connections. But I don't see the one that says remote connections. I only see the one that says remote assistance, and there is just a blank space underneath that. So why isn't the one that says remote connections on there? Is there something I have to do to make it be on there? And if so what?
