For most of the time when i power up my macbook a "please shutdown ur macbook screen pops up" I can't seem to do any work or go into the main screen. It only lets me get past sometimes but than after i start working the pop up menu comes again asking me to hold down the power button. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Hello, I am having an issue with Windows Media Player 10, well... 2 issues:

One, when you dbl click to play a song, it will play the wrong song (yet it says it's playing the song you clicked). It does this about half the time, sometimes it plays the right song.

Two, songs will just disappear out of the library and I'm not sure why. Usually after dbl clicking them, and then they don't play or they play the song I was previously playing.

I would totally appreciate any help you can give. Pleaasee help :) This is at work and they don't allow any other media players.

P.S. I have checked the options and don't see anything weird. It just started doing this today, worked fine yesterday. I have restarted media player and my computer several times.

I have a mypsace account and just recently created one to have as my music site since ive made quite a few songs on my pc and want to add them to the myspace mini-player on my new myspace account. how can i upload an mp3 file so that it will come up in search results on myspace/music? I do computer work and i need something that I can check customers PCs with, without installing anything on it. I know years ago, Norton Antivirus could do this, but I stay away from Norton now, it sucks.

I also know that the definitions need to be updated, but what I'll do is download the latest files and put them on the CD the day i go to a customer.

Also, what about putting it on a thumb drive? Is there a program that can install itself on one of those. That would be even better.

Hello All,

So I have recently signed up for Comcast High Speed and a technician came over to install. He was not able to hook up the cable modem/router via Ethernet to my Ethernet port. The port kept assigning a generic (static) ip that could not connect. However, the modem had the option of connecting via usb, which worked fine (the computer has no problem assigning a valid ip to this connection). I am assuming that the Ethernet connection would be faster (100 mbps vs 12 mbps for usb). I have also tried connecting my xbox via crossover cable to this Ethernet port, to no avail. And on top of all that, I have also connected (via SCSI) an additional Netgear Ethernet port that does the same damn thing!
I am currently running Windows XP with SP 2 (illegit copy). Please Help! This process has been very frustrating. If you need more info, let me know and I will try and be more specific.

I startup my windows xp home edition desktop and its starts up fine but a little sluggish than once i click on any program like AIM and Internet these two messages come up. a svchost.exe-application error that says the instruction at "0x745f2780" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory cannot be "read" and the other one is Gener Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and its a dont send/send error report thing please help me its makin my computer act very weird.

QuickTime may have come with the PC; I don't know. I think though that it may have been an add-on to something I downloaded. I was viewing photos, and it kept asking me if I wanted to convert the files to QuickTime. I think that it also has appeared when I'm running other programs and asked if I want to use QuickTime instead. I can't recall for certain though because I have been away from my computer for a while.
