Press F8 when you start up. Choose safe mode. When it restarts, go to pragrammes, accessories, system requirements, system restore. Choose a restore point to a date where you pc worked well. By the way. delete unnecessary files. It will free up some memory. Run Norton anti virus after you've started. Good luck.

Buddy ur PC is infected by some kind of virus. Install any antivirus with update and scan the whole PC. It will help. If it does not help reinstall the OS. If this problem exists then u got problems with ur RAM, change the RAM.

Go here: http://swigartconsulting.blogs.com/tech_blender/
Scroll down to the July 26 entry titled "Windows Update Broke My Machine"
It works for me, but is only temporary.
Also some say to Turn off Automatic Updates (in Control Panel,) then go to WindowsUpdate (http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us ) Scan for, download and install all updates, then go back and restart Automatic Updates.
