Drives A and B are floppy drives. Drive C is the root hard drive. You can't hide it from others. You can, however, partition it into C and D, then use a password to access D. If you do that, you will have to back up all data, re-install the OS and programs. An easier system is to create another directory into which you will save your sensitive files. You can hide this directory, or password protect it, or encrypt it. This works for NTFS file system (Win 2000/XP).

You can hide the folder/directory under Win 9x/Me also. Right click on the folder| Properties|Attributes -choose hidden.

Drive C is the root drive. You cannot hide it from people who logs into the system.

Why not go and buy an external hard drive ...that way when other people want to use your pc...your can unplug the external drive and they wont have access to whatever you don't want them to see

if u use win2k (win2000 )or xp or server u can do it
but
u must have the ntfs partition on ur computer or u need to convert ur partition format to ntfs by converting fat32 or fat to ntfs or reinstalling ur xp and formating the partition as ntfs
if any way u had any ntfs partition ,just go into safe mode ,i mean u restart ur computer ,then hit f8 and chose safe mode ,then open ur my computer ,then right click on ur ntfs drive ,then choose security ,then u will find some were that u can deney or allow peoples to have access to ur drive ,but u know u must different account than them ,then u make one account for ur self as administrator account, then u can let they have access to certain folders as ur windows folder or document and sharing folder or root of ur c drive ,or u can just specified one folder for u and denied every one to access that folder or use other ntfs partition rather than ur winxp installed drive
good luck
