I joined Yahoo! 360° (which is like MySpace, Friendster, etc.) a couple of months ago. At first I only invited "real life" friends to my "friends list"; however, I've recently started adding people I met on 360° to my "friends list". On one hand, it's nice to be able to see when they update their 360° pages. On the other hand, it feels a little weird to me to be adding virtual strangers to my "friends list". I guess every friendship has to start somewhere... But I would like to know what others think...

I have norton 2000/2001, not sure. Also have norton 2005. Both installed on computer. Problem is that the startup pulls from both (or something like that) and cannot receive complete updates. I have gone into the add/delete icon and have checked out other answers here. Alot of norton stuf comes up when I file search, but there is no way to tell which files are fron the original install verses the 2005 version. I don't want to delete the wrong one. Any ideas would be great!! HELP....

If you have, I'd like to hear your story. I've sent in the forms they want, filled in with erronious info, and kept the gig up for weeks. They try to call the fake number I send, and there is no "Shakina Mybutta" at that number. I tell them how sorry I am, I must have transposed some numbers, and send them another fake number. One guy called 9 different numbers before he sent me a hateful email and quit! Do you play along with them? What are some of the best pranks you've pulled on them?

I've been helping my cousin set up her new laptop before she heads out to college. She bought a Toshiba laptop from Best Buy. The salesman recommended she install PC-Cillin as virus protection. As we were setting up the computer we realized that McAfee virus software was factory installed on the computer. In order to install PC-Cillin we must uninstall McAfee. My question is which is better? Was the salesman simply trying to upsell or is PC-Cillin a better program? Will uninstalling McAfee result in voiding any warranties? Thanks!

every time i open up a my gmail account.cant view the image files loaded in it.rather the page is blank and at the top i see small diagram of a circle.a trriangle and a square.and sometimes when i open up a game in yahoo.the same display is signalled.but not for all the games.only a few shows it.please tell me how to avoid it.do i have to install any new software to prevent.it.thanks

I have 3 partitions on my hard drive 1) has dos 2) is 8 gigs of empty space 3) has a copy of Windows 2000. What I'd like to do is boot to dos...which it does, run the setup file in the 3rd partition and tell it to install on the second partition. For some reason I can't run the setup I get a an error message but, I can run the winnt.exe file. This allows me to start the setup but never gives me the option to install windows on my second partition. If you can help please be very specific as I'm new to this environment on the PC. BTW, I've tried installing Windows on the hard drive using another pc then putting it back in the tablet...it doesn't work. The tablet won't recognize it. Thanks for any help.

can someone help me with a problem im having? ok when i try to click on a link to dl a file, a small window pops up that says "The Compressed (zipped) Folder is invalid or corrupted." this happens with all the files i try to dl (like a hack for a game) and i cant dl it. whats causing it to do this? how can i get rid of that window and dl the file? u can dl those same files from another computer, how come i cant dl them on mine? can any1 help me?

i have verizon dsl i want to add internet to my second computer. ihave bought a wireless router and a usb adapter and have read and watched the cd but still cant get it to work. not sure what i am doing wrong but i am lost. any help would be appreciated. my second computer does not have ethernet port so i had to buy the usb adapter.

I have a main page 'site.com' that i would like to have automatically redirect the person to one of 3 possibilities based on browser settings; either english, chinese traditional, or chinese simpified.

So for example an english user should be redirected from 'site.com' to the site 'site..com/en/main.html'

This is a one time redirect only at the main page i do have links at the sites... but i would rather redirect the users immediately and let them change after.

Ideally something without a script (i.e., pure html) but ill take anything.

I know that there is a viruse on my computer. My Task Manager along with my Charter Anti-Virus will not run. Task Manager said that it has been disabled by the Andministrator, but I went into the Services screen and it shows that it is running. Charter will open, but will not scan for viruses. I tried to download Norton Anti-Virus free trial from Yahoo, and it came up with an error that it cannot be connected to the internet. There is also a box from F-Secure that keeps coming up and giving me names of different folders, saying that there is a Trojan, but the file has been renamed. I don't know what to do! Please help!
