I have norton 2000/2001, not sure. Also have norton 2005. Both installed on computer. Problem is that the startup pulls from both (or something like that) and cannot receive complete updates. I have gone into the add/delete icon and have checked out other answers here. Alot of norton stuf comes up when I file search, but there is no way to tell which files are fron the original install verses the 2005 version. I don't want to delete the wrong one. Any ideas would be great!! HELP....

Yea delete nortan 2000/2001 and 2005 cause if its out of date then you need to get rid of it pront o.
A good free antivirus is AVG Free Edition.
Works excellent.

Nortan is a pain in the @$$ to deal with on removing there crap. Thats one of the big reasons I hate Nortan.

Visit the Symantec website to get details on how to uninstall the antivirus program. Uninstalling Norton AV is not as simple as just running the delete command - it is rather tedious. I have had problems when trying to install Norton Insternet Security 2005 over NIS 2004.

well you shouldnt have both versions running at once or any two virus scanners for that matter. if you didnt uninstall 2001 then do so. if you are still having problems after uninstalling, then uninstall ALL of your nortons, then search for norton stuff and delete it (from the registry too if you know how), and then reinstall the version that you want. WARNING: this will take a while

Oh Norton programs are actually as obsolete
as the floppy disks. Read keymosabe.typepad.com/whoa/2004/05/why_getting_a_v.html

Norton blows.....pop in the rebuild cd for your operating system and rebuild from scratch...Norton is as hard to get rid of as herpes.
