You can install Java applets (http://java.sun.com/applets/), if not try this: (i recommend you doing even if the problem is fixed)
First run adadware for getting out spyware (a cand of virus)
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
Later use an antivirus=
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
After that clean your data with ccleaner=
http://www.ccleaner.com/
After insall a firewall:
http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp
Everything here is free and with no problems.
I choosed the best of the best.
And finally use Firefox or Opera instead of IE=
http://www.getfirefox.com
http//www.opera.com
Opera is faster.
Firefox opens more things

Try downloading Firefox. Its a free alternative to Internet Explorer. I was having similar problems with "broken images" until I switched browsers. You can find more information about Firefox at http://www.getfirefox.com.
I hope this helps. I would also recomend Registry Mechanic, you can download a free trial of the software. Just search google for Registry Mechanic. Downloading the free version of AdAware wouldnt be a bad idea either.
This should fix your problem.

that little symbol is there to tell you that an image should be there, but there was an error displaying or loading it. you might try to update your browser. or it may just be a simple security issue, maybe you have inadvertanly changed a setting. i know this is all rather vague. but hopefull i have pointed you in the right direction. good luck
i was wondering. are you using a proxy? sometimes proximitron will do this, so will popup blockers

Actually, instead of doing something so radical as changing your browser, just update java.
Head over to http://www.java.com and download and install the latest version. Restart the computer, and you're good to go.

This is a browser problem. Your probably running Internet Explorer, which is proned to many problems. Go to www.firefox.com and download their free web browser. It's a nice, stable, powerful & faster web browser than IE, and it's also safer in security. It's rated one of the best browsers for consumers to date. It'll most likely fix that problem for you. The only other reason a picture won't show up is because the website hosting them has a broken link.
