I have recently bought a new laptop, and need to transfer old files to this. i have the internet on my old laptop, but not on my new, this is via an ethernet cable. both laptops do have wireless aswell. i have tried using the wizards to set them up together but they are yet to work. is there away i can connect the 2 together just using an ethernet cable? or can i connect my old one to the internet and connect the two via wireless? both are running windows xp. any help on this would be greatly appreciated, have very limited technical knowlege, so a "retard" proff guide would be appreciated! lol. cheers.

I have just moved from the US to the Middle East. My desktop worked perfectly in the US running a wirelss SBC/Yahoo ADSL modem and my laptop would connect flawlessly to the system. The PC was connected to the ADSL modem through a D-Link ethernet adaptor. The house i have in the Middle East has internet sockets on the wall - they are LAN sockets n the internet comes right through them as if you are on a network - no modem. My laptop works perfectly plugged into the wall however my Desktop connects but can't stay connected. SO I bought a Linksys WRT54g wirelss router to get wifi fro the laptop (no problem) and to get the desktop in via a router. SAME PROBLEM with the Desktop. SO i bought a new wethernet card (538TX instead of 530TX) to no avail - SAME PROBLEM. SO I bought a Linksys PCI WMP54G wirelss adapter to access the internet to no avail. SAME PROBLEM. Seems to connect for 20-30 seconds then drop out and re aquire. So that is through 2 ethernets cards a router and wifi.

my nails used to be short a while back, and I used to be able to type really well. now, my nails are longer, and even though i try to be faster, somehow, i just can't. So is it my long nails that slip off the keys, or just a lack of practice? keep in mind that i've been typing a lot lately.

An video intructor on RH was saying that the named.conf should only be modified by redhat-config-bind and that any by-hand customizations should be made to named.custom. What's the downside of modifying named.conf by hand? I've done that all time in Solaris and BSD. Thanks.
