my nails used to be short a while back, and I used to be able to type really well. now, my nails are longer, and even though i try to be faster, somehow, i just can't. So is it my long nails that slip off the keys, or just a lack of practice? keep in mind that i've been typing a lot lately.

You answered your own question. Yes, "long nails" effect your typing speed "alot". You will be less accurate and much much slower of a typist. If your job depends on speed, lose the long nails.

I have 1 inch nails and type just fine it just takes practice. You really have to adjust the way your hands are positioned so that your nails dont slip off.

I trim my nails because when they get too long they hit the keys surrounding the ones I'm actually trying to type.

The limits Y/A puts on answering and asking for those below the 5000 point level. What's the point to that. It takes more points to get to level 7 then all the other levels combined. Then there's nothing beyond level 7. I just answer things I now longer care about points or levels.

Yes, I have long nails and they do the same thing. I just got them redone and just taking them down a little made a big difference.

I can't type well with long fingernails, either so I end up trimming them down after a couple of days.
