Basically i have noticed that there are unsecure wireless internet singnals floating around outside my house, probably from my neighbors, I can use the signals just fine if I am outside, inside upstairs they work alright, but my computers are in my basement so I was wondering how you would intercept the signals and send them to my basement, I would also like to be able to boost the signals if possible, they are not very strong. If possible I would like to intercept the signals and transmit them to my computers through cat5 cable. Then i can cancel my internet and get it for free!! Any help would be awesome thanks..

My computer got a problem, when the windows start up screen appear after few seconds the screen go dark. i tried to boot the windows from the safe mode. but I cant go inside the windows after the windows welcome screen comes. the screen go dark again.
What can i do to bring my windows again? I have the windows xp recovery CD that was given to me buy my laptop manufacture ( Toshiba A50) One of my friends told me to boot the computer from the recovery CD and choose the repair windows. but I am afraid if I do this I will loose my files in my hard disk, if it get formatted!! can this happen. or can I repair my windows still keeping my files in the hard disk as my friend told me? Any other Ideas to recover my c but still keeping the files at my hard drive ?

Well i have a kinda old laptop but not to old and it lags when i play games and use the laptop. It sometimes freezes for a long time then keeps going. Its very slow. I have defragmented it already (4hours) and i did many other things. What do you think i should do to stop this?! BTW i only have 256MB of RAM. You think putting a memory card (256MB) will help?

I have an intergrated ATI Radeon XPress 200. If I put a cheap 64MB graphics card in my computer so I can use S-Video, will it take memory from the system if needed for games.

In other words, would the cheap 64MB card be better than my intergrated graphics?

I threw away a document 1 day ago. I deleted the Trash today. 4 Hours later, it comes that I need that file again. Is there anyway for me to restore, or find the files i trashed and emptied on a PC?

I'm going to get a laptop but I can't decide if I should get the Intel Core Duo Processor T2050 (2MB Cache, 1.60GHz. 533MHz FSB) or the T2400 (2MB Cache, 1.83 GHz, 667MHz FSB) at a slightly higher cost? I have no clue about processors and what the GHz and MHz are for? Is it really a case of more is better or just unnecessary?

Okay so here's the issue.....
I can't download anything on my computer since its restricted to administrator priveledges only. Well lets say my friend downloads flash 8, she has this chip thing that if she plugs into my computer she can send me a program or file or anything. So if she downloaded, and saved it, and then plugged it into my computer so I can have it, will I have flash 8?

I saved .asx music files onto my computer. After, I converted it to mp3, and then I converted it to a .wav file. However, there's a problem. There's about ten songs, but it's played as one track. How can I sort of "divide" it to ten tracks? Is there a program to do that? I need help as soon as possible.

okay you know how when you want to put songs in your iTunes library you gotta import the songs from a cd, well there is this song on Youtube that i want to put in the library, but i don't have any cd's with the song on it, and i can only burn the web page to a cd, not the actual song itself. any way i can burn the SONG (not the webpage) to a cd, or get the song to my iTunes library?

I use limewire to download songs. I've had limewire for about 2 years, usually it works fine and downloads fast. but lately when i put the name of the song i want, nothing comes up...i've even let it search for an hour or more but nothin comes up. Has anyone else experienced this.

Our desktop will not boot up. It get's to : "Inspecting your computers hard drive configuration..." then goes black and never comes back. We have had it shut down for a long time now and just gone to using laptop but of course there are pictures on the desktop I desprately want.
Stores have recovery discs (Norton etc.) are these any help and will I be able to get back to the picture files if I use a recovery disc?

yes i was wondering if they sell a program for translating language. i wanted to see if there was one where as im typing im my normal english keyboard it will automoaticly tanslate what im typing to the language i want. i know this is kinda not possible but it might be out there. i wanted to type forign text but i cant. and i got a short keys program and pasted the foreing text but it wouldnt show. so can u help me out there on how to enter forgin text into like yahoo games and such thanks

I'm using a computer that use to belong to another employee where I work. Whenever I open Word (or hit new document) it opens to a page with information (text) already on it?
I have to delete the text on the page to begin working on whatever I need to do. This is very annoying!
Does anyone know how to correct this? I've tried everything I know and even broke down & use the help button to no avail.
