I have Windows XP, and frankly, I am sick of it and Microsoft. I am looking into getting an Apple Macbook (not the pro, just a normal one). Does anyone here have one and really like it. Please share your comments..good or bad here. And also, do they scratch easily like the iPod?

Here the description of my problem...

I had the achtung virus on my computer, so I thought I would do a windows repair from the cd. I boot the cd, look around a bit, but unable to find a repair option (to install windows xp over the existing windows xp). So I try to exit the cd to restart the computer, and it doesn't exit. Instead the computer seems to be loading something, so I just hit the power button. When I turn the computer back on, and the boot-up part gets to booting the hard drive, all I see is a blinking underscore. I tried reading the drive as a slave, but it wouldn't read. What the heck just happened? Thanks.

I want to build my own computer, I have a tower, I have a cd/dvd drive, screen, keyboard etc.... the only problem is choosing a good internal hard drive, one that will support my entertainment system ... it doesn't have to be elite... I want one with a good price and enough memory.

I'm thinking of getting the HP Pavilion dv6040us Entertainment Notebook PC. I just want to use the usual Windows features like Word, Excel, plus upload photos, iTunes, watch movies and play games.

Would I be getting too much if its 2048MB and 120GB hard drive?

I like the AMD Turion 64 x 2 TL-52 1.6 ghz

Price is at my limit at $1100. Should I get something else at similar or lower price?

I recently downloaded the newer version of Internet Explorer. Now I can't play certain games, because it will show a big Q with a ? in the middle. I've redownloaded Quicktime & plug-ins & even shockwave & flash players. It still won't work. Any other suggestions? Link to the exact site where what I need to d/l would be appreciated. There is no floppy drive so cant do it from a boot disk, and when i try with a bootable CD it loads windows (even tried going into the bios and setting the CD rom the highest in the boot order)
