If you are running Windows XP Home edition, there is no admin account. Your regular user should have the privileges to do what you need.

if you are using windows xp, at the log-on screen hit ctrl-alt-del twice, then it will open the windows nt log in box. from there you can enter Administrator as the user name and the appropriate password.

u would need to restart the machine into safe mode, u can do this by pressing f8 and tap it, just before the first windows xp screen.
then choose admin. but this might be locked with a password
