Pop-ups are killing me....I found the culprit, but I can't seem to get rid of it. It's a pre-fetch......Evil. Any ideas?

So first i put it in and there are options i click view files in folder then i try to add but i dont know how.i wanted to add a playlist from iTunes but it doesnt let me. only i can do it one song at a time and i dont want to do that.and i saved the playlist and from my documents i tried to drag it but its just a notepad document with all the names of the songs.what do i do?i have no clue.

when i finish all work, i log off my desktop. when it comes to the users screen, i usually stand-by the computer for working later on. i usually do this everyday and it is perfect. but sometimes, not too often, does it happens that when i click on stand-by button, it says preparing to stand-by, but it never stand-bys. what i do is simply switch off the power. what might be the problem?

I have heared that formatting reduces the life of harddisk. Let us suppose I have a virus on my harddisk or my windows is curropted. I want to erase all data from my harddisk including hiddden folder and files like System Volume Information without formatting it. So that I can install windows what should I do? I have NTFS volume. Do u know any live CD linux which supports NTFS filesysystem? I think it will help me to erase data from my HDD.

I have looked for the integrated sounds chip on the mother board and found it is a sigmatel stac9700s, downloaded a new device driver but it will not install saying the is no device present! On the sounds and audio devices from the control panel it is all grey saying there are no devices connected (my speakers are) and the previous driver is not listed!! It's been driving me mad for weeks now! help!

I just downloaded Internet Explorer 7. Now some pages do not fit the screen and I have to use the scroll bar at the bottom to view the page, which I hate doing. How do i fix this?

I recently bought my brother his first PC and wanted to connect him to the Internet. He lives with my sister, who already has DSL service to her own PC. I want to try to avoid wireless connections since I'm not too keen on doing this kind of stuff. Her modem does not have extra ports to run any connection over to my brother's new PC either. But I do have an spare DSL modem; is it possible to hook this spare DSL modem to my sister's house phone line and connect my brother's computer to the Internet as well? Remember, my sister's original DSL modem is already connected to her PC, so I'd be introducing a second DSL modem to the house, under the same telephone line, but in my brother's separate room. Thanks!

I am attempting to put in a printer, but the company will not let me use the "Local printer attached to this computer" option, but they did give me the IP to the printer I am supposed to use, kinda backwards if you ask me, but I think I can get it to work without going through the nightmare of our tech support if I can figure out the URL to the IP they gave me. I know about ping and tracert, is there a way to reverse that and instead of putting in the URL to get the IP, you can put in the IP and get the URL?
