I want to build a budget computer under $300 (without monitor). My only requirements are that it should have a DVD burner and be able to play DVDs and DivX movies with ease.

I have built a few computers before, so feel free to hit me with the technical jargon.

I have a dell pc and its about 1 1/2 year old, i want to complete take everything off my pc except windows and just start how it was when I opened it out of the box. Is reformatting my answer or what should I do? Thanks in advance for you help

the input window automatically shuts down suddenly during my inputting when i attempt to input a long paragraph.(for example, when i use microsoft word or internet explorer) . it seems i don't press any wrong key at all. The OS is windows XP. Why does this happen?

trying to download a torrent through bittorrent...its been downloading for 7 hours and its only 12.3% completed and seems to have come to a halt at 0kb/sec....is there anything i can do to actually make this work?

I have a 2001 ibook with G3 and X.2.8 . Over the next three months I will be living in a building with a wireless network. Are there any adaptars I can buy that will work on my computer without paying too much money?

I've been looking at one I found at www.afterthemac.com, and www.macwireless.com, also the D-link DWL-G122 (which I read I can use, but d-link doesn't mention it being apple compatible). I'm not sure which products would work and which need drivers that they don't make for Macs. Any type of reciever which can connect to my computer's usb or eithernet port would be helpful.

What about an airport card? If I remove the keyboard from my laptop there appears to be a space for a card and a wire to connect to it.

Thank you for help you can give me. And I know alot of you hate macs, but I'm not about to buy a new computer so don't tell me that the solution is to switch to windows.

The antivirus software is like a virus itself. I don't want to pay for it, so I don't renew it. It comes on every few days asking me if I want to renew. I try to uninstall it as you normally would in Add and Remove programs and it will not work. It blocks pop ups when I don't want it to, it filters adult material that I want to look at, and it will not go away. Please help!!

Does any one know how I can make my own restore cd for my computer with a clean install of XP Home and some base programs already on it? I know there is a utility program I can use with Norton Ghost and win ISO to do it but I can not find it on the web. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

okay so i suppose when it comes to the new motherboards (PCiE) im a bit of a noob.

PCI Express is the new AGP. i accept that. ive seen PCI-E X1, X2 and X16

ok, well yea, i just installed limewire like... 5 hours ago, and it still wont open!!! idk why, i tried reinstalling java, it didnt work, and ive alreeady tried to reinstalled it before, twice, cuz once, i cleaned up the registry and then installed it again, and it still didnt worked. and then just reinstalled it again. im using ares, and ive used both of these before at the same time wit no problems, until i reinstalled windows, anyone got a idea of wat i can do? thank you
