Plug the laptop in (to a power outlet).

yeah, and I ask my kid how to program the vcr. Go figure... Someone has already explained how to charge your battery. I'd like to take it a step further. Your battery has a life of a certain (rather large) number of charges. Tiy cab extend the life of your battery by using the power adaptor for your power source when that is convenient. Like when you're at home or otherwise near an outlet. However, in order to exercise your battery (that means tokeep it in tioptop condition), you should use the battery as a power source at least from time to time, then immediately recharge it. This will lengthen the amount of time your battery gives you good service.
Good luck.

It should have come with a power lead, simply plugging the power lead into both a working power socket and the computer and making sure the power socket is turned on should allow the battery to charge.

With the battery installed and power supply plugged in, turn your computer on. It should not take too long to charge it.
