Everytime I turn the computer on I have to update the driver on one of my USB ports in order to get it to work. This is an ongoing process that occurs nearly everytime and although is simple enough to put right, keeps on happening. Any ideas how to resolve this permanently without throwing the computer out the window?

I have a textarea and I have some AJAX code so that as you type in the text bos everytime you hit space it sends what is in the text box off to the PHP script on the server where all the bb codes are added and then you are given a visual representation of how your message will look. The problem is that when pressing enter in my textarea the script returns it without a line break. I am using nl2br in the php script but it does nothing. I was wondering if there was any Javascript function to convert carrige returns to line breaks.

Any help is much appreciated.

USB drives dont work. They appear to be normal in device manager, but nothing happens when i connect a device. I've tried reinstalling them but they still act normal. Its a four-port hub, and it stoppe working as soon as i plugged a card reader into it. A mouse, a webcam and an ext. hdd was coonected to the other ports at the time.Now none of them work!(But they do on other computers)

I posted this question a day before, but i did not receive any real help! I am posting it again and am looking for your expert advice and real solution to my problems, URGENT!

Hi! I am responsible at my work to keep servers clean and protected against viruses. I have Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition and I keep it updated by installing the most recent Virus Definitions. But I am facing a big trouble. EXPERT advice/help is urgently required for following:

1. The viruses keep coming and they creat .eml files in all folders.
2. The AV quarantines all infected files and creates .vbn files in thousands in Quarantine folder. They occupy huge space (sometime as much as 5GB).

Can you please tell me:

1. How can i restrict .eml files from being written
2. Is there a way to stop .vbn files from being written/created?

my printer is a brother dcp 110, the printer keeps telling me that my ink is empty , i know this is not the case because i replaced the ink carts yesterday but it is still telling me that the ink is empty
can any one teel me how to sort this out pls

oh yes for thoses tecky's out there i did reset the ink management thing i told the printer that i had changed all ink carts and then cleaned all printer heads , any help pls .

...promiscuous mode then it starts sniffing all the data packets flowing across the lan this can b harmful.in a lan nework if one of the node is having a lan card set in promiscuous mode then it starts sniffing all the data packets flowing acrossthe lan.we will send arp packets in lan with a destination address of which no node exist in the lan.in promiscuous mode the node wil accept those packets & wil respond toit.in promiscuous mode all the packets in lan are accepted irrespective of their destination address.as soon as a node wil respond we can get 2 know that an NIC is in promiscuous mode or not.there are 2 type of filtering done here:
hardware filtering & software filtering.
in hardware filtering the destination address of packets are atched wid hardware address.& hence on this basis filtering is done.but in promiscuous mode hardware filtering is not done at all..........so software filtering is done.in this the kernel wil have 2 decide how these arp packets wil b handled.
