Yes, and very easy ones too. Go to Yahoo Widgets and use the search feature on the lower left for "mail" and you will see several Widgets that can meet your need. Very simple to use and show up anywhere on your desktop you want them to show. Some show the number of new emails you've received since the last check at the address. Enjoy!

There are probably a few...simplest one you might already be using...Yahoo Messenger will notify you if you get Yahoo E-mail, for one...I don't remember the program in particular, but there was at least one multi-site mail access program that showed pop-ups for new mail...
you might try searching download.com, filehippo.com, and pcworld.com (I don't know if they still have adware-infested downloads there or not, though)...somewhere I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for

Yahoo, MSN, Rediff all have messengers. They can inform about incoming new mail.

For MS-Outlook, when outlook is open, you get a notification automatically.

configure ur mail accounts to MicrosoftOutlook.. when ever u get mail to accounts that u configured to Outlook it shows a desktop alert by clicking the alert u can read ur message. outlook supports many email accounts..
now its clear...
