It was working fine last night, although I've noticed for a while that a light in the front under what looks like a battery icon keeps staying on. This morning when I turned on the computer, that light came on again and the fan started running, but nothing else happened. Now when I try, even that light is out and the fan doesn't come on; tower is completely dead. Monitor and speakers are plugged into the same power strip and turn on just fine. Haven't had any electrical storms or power outages. There is no reset button on the computer. Has my power supply died, or are there things I can try before assuming that?

What damage does it cause to turn a computer off every time you are finished using it?

I know its bad for the computer to turn it off everytime you are finished using it, but my dad makes me do it to save money on the electric bill...does anyone know exactly WHAT it does to the computer so I can tell him that and he'll believe me?

How can I attach the FOLDER ( whcich contains folder and files) on email as attachment?

Dear All :
Can somebody tell me if I want to attach the whole FOLDER to a email, how can I do that, because they only can attach the file not the FOLDER that contains many folders and files.

Does anyone know how to post a Yahoo Avatar on Myspace, and if you can do it, where do you paste the code in?

Anyone know of any loopholes to get Dell to replace an Inspriron 1000 that is no longer under warranty?

I have a Dell Insprion 1000 that is virtually dead (if you adjust the screen at all, or even bump it for that matter it locks the hard drive and kills the video to the screen (anyone know how to fix this?)) and I was wondering if there is any way to get Dell to replace it even though it is no longer under warranty?

What is the best free picture hosting service.?

I like to use imageshack because it's quick easiy and offers unlimited usage but it seems to have a fair bit of down time or can be slow (not loading the picture).

Any suggestions for something as good but without the down time?
I use it for hosting pictures to post on forums.

I use photobucket but find I use photobucket but find there's not enough space offered.

Motherboard won;t boot?

Ok I just change the motherboard in my computer because it wouldn;t boot. and the new motherboad didn't boot either so i took back got a another one but this one doesn;t boot either, i also change cpu and power supply. the first thing i did i plug the power supply to the motherboard and try to boot with no hard drive or memory and no other hard drive but still won't even get me to cmos the screen just stay black and the hhd led stays amber. i know i not the monitor because i plug it to my laptop and it get the sginal from it, now i don;t know what can it be. the motherboard is a MSIpm8m3-v and cpu is celeron D. any help??

starting screen of my pc shows me 4 options my system is a dual boot system how can i get rid of this?

I have a dual boot system with three partitions, c: [fat32] d:[ntfs] and e:[fat32]
win98 on c: win Xp on d:. Recently i had a problem with my winXp so i installed a new
copy of winXp on e: and deleted windows folder on d: . But i couldn't remove its name from
starting screen for selection of OS. So i again tried to reload xp on d: and left the installation icomplete,
so now starting screen shows me four options as Microsoft windows XP

Microsoft windows 98
Microsoft windows XP setup
how can i get rid of this?

If I want to create my own webpage, what are the best services for the cheapest price I should use?

I want to create my own webpage with my own domain. To start off, I will need to register a domain and getting a hosting service. Can anyone make some suggestions for the best quality for the lowest price. HDD Problem????

Since 2 weeks ago my case was giving some crancking sounds. Thought it was the CPU Cooler but the sounds came from the hard-drive. I know it makes some sound, but crancking like sounds? every time I boot after 15 seconds. And keeps doing it whenever it wants. Not a regular pattern. Is my Hdd dying? I have a WD 2500JD. And I have it for about half a year. SHould I be worried?
